What did Faith In Christ give you?

FAITH IN CHRIST (1)

What did Faith In Christ give you?

What is it? Is it wealth? Is it Healing? Is it the best wife in the world? Is it the best career?  Is it a Sound Mind for your Academics?

From a child, you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto Salvation through Faith IN christ Jesus…

Notice the words of Paul to Timothy, from a Child, you have known the Writings of the Prophets, which are able to make you wise or skillful in Salvation, that is the Doctrine of Salvation… Now the word Salvation which is Soteria in the Greek have a word in it called, “Soter”

Soter refers to a person and that is why he said that “The Salvation is found in Christ Jesus!” That means that, the Soteria which is Salvation that he is talking about is referring to Jesus and His work. that is what He did in His death, Burial and Resurrection.

Notice something there… He says, “Salavtion through Faith which is In Christ Jesus” that means, what Salvation is what Faith in Christ gives…

Don’t forget that one, it will come in Handy shortly… Next vs👇🏻

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

All Scripture, He is still referring to what he meant by “Holy Scriptures” in the previous verse… Now notice that “Holy Scriptures” in vs 15 will refer to “Genesis to Malachi” Since that was the only available materials that the Apostles had to teach from. At the time of the writing of this letter, the 4Gospels or the Epistles or the book of Acts was not written. So, “Holy Scriptures”refers to the Old Testament books… Pay close attention now

Then he says, “All Scriptures” referring to Genesis to Malachi is Profitable for Doctrine… Doctrine in What?

Don’t forget, Holy Scriptures refers to Genesis to Malachi… Luke 24👇🏻

Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

Luke 24:25 KJV

All that the Prophets have said does not refer to everything from Genesis to revelation, let me quickly correct a statement some grace folks sometimes use…

“Jesus is found on every page of the Bible, if you read any place in the Bible and you don’t see Jesus, you didn’t read the Bible.

That is quite funny oo, next vs👇🏻

Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

Luke 24:26 KJV

The word all in vs 25 is an old word, it doesn’t mean “all” as in everything, it is used for “these, every, part of”

it must always be studied within the context in which it was used. For example, people have used Romans 8:28 to motivate themselves in their business and others have made a lot of confessions from it. “All things work together for my good.” So, when something wrong happens to their business, instead of them to find out exactly what happened and fix it, they use “All things work together for my good.”

That vs 28 have syntax error. We have done that teaching on this platform several times. Where we noticed that it isnt supposed to be read as “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.”  you are not loved by God because you love Him. Again, you are not called according to His purpose because you love Him. Hence things are not working together for your good because you love God. No!

it is supposed to b read as “All things work together for good to them that God love, to them are called according to His Purpose.”

Now “All things” in that verse isn’t referring to just anything, no! vs 29

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:29 KJV

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Romans 8:30 KJV

Notice he has spoken about 4 different things here..

1. Predestination

2. Calling

3. Justification

4. Glorification

And all these are God’s actions. In other words, they are all that God has done…

Next vs

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31 KJV

Notice that, all things in vs 28 have become “these things” in vs 31. Meaning that, “all things in vs 28 refers to the things he mentioned in vs 29-30

Which will be the 4 things that i have listed above for you. So, what he is simply saying is that “God’s predestination, his calling, His justification and His Glorification works together for good to the Believer.” Not all things as everything that happens is for your good. How can your kid die and you confess “It is working together for my Good?”😄

So that is “all” for you. So, when you see it in the Epistles next time, take your time and read it well. Don’t generalize it… Okay, back to Luke 24

Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

Luke 24:26 KJV

So again, “all” in vs 25 becomes “these things”in vs 26

Referring to His sufferings and the Glory that will follow… Hence he is not referring to everything that the Prophets said… No!

He is referring to their utterances concerning Him, His redemptive work and the glories or realities that followed that redemptive work! clear?

Next vs

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Luke 24:27 KJV

The things concerning Him… That means, there are things there which doesn’t concern Him… So, Jesus is not found in every place of the Scriptures… No!

He is found in every book of the Bible, but not every place. In all the books of the Old Testament, he is found in them individually, and collectively, he is still found in them. There are things in all the books which speaks about Him. But not everything in the books speaks about Him and such things needs to be discarded… alright, now, watch something in vs 27

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Luke 24:27 KJV

He taught about Himself in all the books of the Old Testament… look at vs 44

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Luke 24:44 KJV

Seen that? He used the old Testament books to teach about Himself

and the things he taught about Himself is simply His redemptive Work…

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

Luke 24:46 KJV

Did you see that? it is written in the all the Scriptures  that, he must suffer and to rise from the dead the 3rd day. Hallelujah!

So, Jesus used the old Testament books to teach about His redemptive work, which is Salvation… Back to 2Tim now

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

It is therefore very clear here that, the Scriptures are profitable for the Doctrine of Salvation! Doctrine is simply “teachings” So, the Scriptures are for the teaching of Salvation!

And he says in that Doctrine of Salvation, there is reproof, there is correction and instruction in Righteousness.

Now vs 15 says that “You have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you is unto Salvation through Faith in Christ Jesus.” In othe words, faith in Christ gives you Salvation!

Now Salvation from what?

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Matthew 1:21 KJV

That is the work of Jesus! He is to save people from their sins! this is what he came to do. And what he came to accomplish is what will be made available in Him

Romans 5

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 KJV

While we were yet sinners, Christ died for for us… That is He died for our sins… Romans 4

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Romans 4:25 KJV

He was delivered to death for our offences…  Hebrews

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Hebrews 9:26 KJV

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Hebrews 9:28 KJV

All the emphasis of his death is on Sin!

He settled the Sin problem not any other thing… the sin problem. halleujah

So watch something in Acts 13

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:  And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Acts 13:38 KJV

Did you see that? Through this man is preached unto you Forgiveness of Sins!

Back to Luke 24

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

Luke 24:46 KJV

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Luke 24:47 KJV

Seen that? The end result of His death is Forgiveness of Sins!

Forgiveness of Sins is Salvation!

So Hebrews 9 again

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Hebrews 9:28 KJV

“Appear the 2nd time” isnt referring to the 2nd coming of Christ, but His resurrection. Not the rapture or the 2nd coming… Salvation is found in His ressurection, not his 2nd coming or the Rapture… So, he put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself and made Salvation available in His resurrection. So Romans 4:25 says, he died for our sins and was raised back to life for our Justification. So, Justifcation is Salvation!

And that will therefore mean, Righteousness is Salvation because to be decalred righteous is to be justified. So, Justifcation is same as righteousness and it makes sense because if the sin which made me a sinner is taken away, then i am to be declared righteous since i don’t have any records of wrong doing… So very clear.

Righteousness therefore is a benefit of Forgiveness of Sins! Hallelujah

Back to 2Tim

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3:15 KJV

Hence Salvation through Faith here will therefore be Righteousness through faith!

That is very well taught in the Book of Romans

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Romans 3:21 KJV

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Romans 3:22 KJV

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Romans 10:4 KJV

Hence Faith in Christ gave you forgiveness of Sins and Its Benefits. hallelujah

Gloray!

It didnt give you a good wife, nor a sound mind for your academics or anything material. It gave you the glories of Salvation! Hallelujah

Everything that Jesus accomplished in his death, burial, resurrection and ascension is given to you at Salvation and it excludes Material prosperity. I will say that again, what you received in Christ doesn’t include Material Prosperity. It doesn’t include it.

Blessed!

How to take possession of what belongs to you as a Christian

FAITH NEVER FAILS Don’t Give Up On God

How to take possession of what belongs to you as a Christian

A lot of times many Christians forget or are ignorant of who they really are, what belongs to them and what they can do. Theres no reason for a child of God to be oppressed by the devil. The devil cannot oppress you without your permission.

The only way the devil can oppress you is with your permission. The devil cannot destroy your business, your home, finances etc without your permission. He needs your permission.

The only reason the devil can rule over any Christian is with the permission of that Christian whether or not he does it consciously. And if you find things going in a certain direction continually, you may have given the devil permission to do so, whether or not you knew about it makes no difference.

There are people who say well we never can tell whats going to happen. it’s easy to say that so that we leave the responsibility to God and make God the scape goat for all the things that happen, so we can blame someone bigger than us for all the things that happen to us.

So there are many Christians who live in fear, Some others say whatever will be will be, if its mine it will come to me if it’s not mine it will not come to me.
No, theres a devil out there that has the responsibility to stop what belongs to you from getting to you. you have to remember that.

Just because you are a Christian doesnt mean everything is going to come out right. Sometimes you look at yourself and say what have done to deserve this thing, I haven’t done anything wrong to anybody, I haven’t hurt anybody, well bad things happen to good people.

Sometime ago a gentleman told his children not to be very good because bad things happen to good people and truly bad things do happen to good people.

So many people wonder, that man was so nice, why did that happen to him, why did God allow it, God? That is the escapist mechanism.
Or they say if God didnt allow it, it wouldn’t happen? God? What is our responsibility in all these, does it mean if God didnt allow it, it wouldn’t have happened.

Take charge of your life, if you dont take do something about your life nothing may change. Your goodness will not change anything. Does that mean you should stop being good ?

No you have to be good and kind. what it means is that all of that will not bring the money in, stop the devil from oppressing you, will not get rid of the sickness or disease or infirmity and will not stop poverty from attacking you.

Someone once asked, why is it that all the bad guys have all the good things and all the good guys have all the bad things. Well that’s being generic, it’s not exactly so, but it seems to be so, then those of us who are enjoying life then look bad in the eyes of others, they always think that we must be doing something wrong for good things to be happening to us.

Isnt it terrible that people believe that the devil is kind and helps his kids get all the good things and God is wicked and they have to beg him and fast and pray and cry.

Sometimes they say 7 days fasting and prayer before you get your deliverance, then why did Jesus come? Or they say 8 days fasting and prayer for you get your breakthrough, through what? Why did Jesus come? It’s a question they have not been able to answer because they are ignorant of the bible.

See Ephesians 1:15-23 He says his mighty power directed towards us is that power that raised him from the dead and set him on Gods right hand. Note that It says right hand not right hand side. When you say someone is your right hand man, does it mean he is at your right hand side? It means your man of authority, the man to whom you have vested authority.

So when you say Jesus is seated on the right hand of God, it’s not the same thing as saying he is seated on the right hand side of God.

God has only one body, Jesus is the express image of his person. So in heaven you are not going to see Jesus and God the father and the holy spirit. You will see God in Jesus. On earth he is in the church, not in the building in his people, his children. See verse 23 The church of Jesus christ is the fullness of God.

Hebrews 2:14-15 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

The word destroy there doesnt mean to annihilate it means to paralyze to make ineffective. Jesus Christ because we were human he also became human so that through death he might make ineffective, he might render powerless the one that had the power of death, that is the devil and delivered those who all their lifetime were in bondage because of the fear of death. Satan has been paralyzed.

There are Christian’s who believe they need deliverance, they say the demon who is holding them is too powerful.

Many Christians are living in the past truth not in the present truth. The present truth is that the devil has been paralyzed by the devil and he cannot hold anybody in bondage who proclaims the name of Jesus

You can just walk out of his bondage, he cant hold you back, the only way he can stop you is by lying to you that you are still in bondage. Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. He didnt say it shall set you free he said it shall make you free.

There are too many who are under the whip lash of the devil suffering so much for nothing because they have been deceived in thinking that the old truth is still there.

A gentleman once did an experiment, he put an insect in a container and closed it. The insect kept trying to come out, it will jump up to hit the lid, he left it there until the insect was preconditioned to think the lid was still there so he removed the lid. The insect kept jumping to where the lid was and kept going back in. That’s how most Christians are.

There are two words that are frequently used in the new testament in the greek translated world for us in the English version, so in the English version you would not know there is a difference, they are aion and cosmos.

Aion means a system within a period of time, example when someone says we are in a new age, it doesnt mean the world has changed

Cosmos refers to the earth, the world and its order of things, how the people are in the world and how things are in the world.

Usually the cosmos is dictated by the aion because the system of government decides how a nation will be like.
So to conquer a nation you got to destroy the government. If you want to change how that nation runs you have to change the system of government.

John.12.31 – Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

It says Satan was the prince of the cosmos, he got it from Adam back in the garden, he was in charge.

Jesus said I have overcome the cosmos. So the money that you need is no longer the property of the devil. You dont have to have them but you know you could have them if you want to. John 16:33

FAITH NEVER FAILS Don’t Give Up On God

The Woman with the Issue of Blood in the Bible Explained By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Changing difficult situations with God’s Word . Mark 5:25-34 This story is about the woman with the issue of blood. The bible says that this woman had suffered for twelve long years and she had become poor from paying the doctors, she didn’t get better and her condition worsened. The bible says she heard of Jesus and she said to herself if I may but touch the helm of his garment I shall be whole .

When she got there she saw that there were so many people around Jesus but her faith was unmoved. She went through the press and touched Jesus and she was healed.

This is remarkable, the power didn’t originate in his clothes, the miracle was not about what Jesus wore, the power was in Jesus and the power was transmitted to his clothes.

But that’s not the point I want us to see, what i want us to see is what really happened. The bible says the woman touched the helm of his garment and the fountain of her blood was dried up, she touched the helm of his garment and the flow of blood stopped. Jesus didn’t do anything about it, Jesus didnt try to heal the woman. See verse 30 of the same chapter.

FAITH NEVER FAILS Don’t Give Up On God

The bible says Jesus knew that power had gone out of him. The woman pulled power out of Jesus and Jesus didn’t do anything about it, he didn’t try make the power flow, he didn’t cause the woman to be healed , he didnt even take notice of the woman, the woman pulled power out of Jesus.

This shows that the woman had a choice, she made a choice and she didn’t think if Jesus will let the power come her , or if Jeus will like her enough to heal her, she didnt think about her sin.

She went, touched , got the miracle and tried to sneak away.

The Bible says Jesus knowing in himself that power had gone out of him asked who touched me, he didnt say Jesus knew about the woman or Jesus had a revelation, he says Jesus recognised that power had gone out of him.

The disciples asked him thou sees the multitude pressed on you how can you say who touched me?

The miracle therefore didnt happen because of the touch, because everybody was touching, everybody could have said I have got something i touched Jesus. so the disciples were surprised that Jesus was asking for who touched him and Jesus kept on looking around to see who has touched him.

So even in the midst of a crowd you can make a choice to recieve. It doesnt matter who else is doing what you are doing, you can make a choice. Everybody maybe touching but that doesnt make any difference because you know what you believe.

Here’s what inspired that woman, I am going to touch him and am going to be healed , somebody else may be touching him but no power flowed. Jesus felt power leave him, all others touched him and nothing happened.

You are the one to single yourself out, the woman went through the press and touched his garment and power flowed.

Jesus said unto her daughter thy faith has made thee whole, He didnt say my power has made you whole, of my faith has made you whole. it was her faith so her faith pulled power of of Jesus, so Jesus had nothing to do with it, it wasn’t a matter of Jesus coming to town and saying I want to heal this person and don’t want to heal this person.

As some people will say whenever God wants to heal me He will heal me or whenever God wants to do it for me I know He will do it for me. It doesn’t matter that you are crying my God will never fail me, whenever He wants to He will do it for me, that is not faith and that is not what the Bible says.

Faith is Now. whenever God is going to do it He will do it, is not Faith. It doesn’t matter how many times you pray that prayer.

A lot of times people think that the more prayer they pray the better for them so they say “I have engaged many people to to pray for me” they think if they have enough people praying for they he will respond, he cant deny three thousand people.

They think this way because they are ignorant of the bible, they have forgotten that one time the whole world was destroyed and only one family was saved.

When you look into the future from the book of revelation there are multitudes that will go to hell.

Somebody said do you think God will just pack so many people to hell? they have not read the Bible, it has nothing to do with numbers.

Theres a feeling we have about suffering, if I find out am not the only one in the matter I am more comfortable. Dont look at life like that.

Life is very personal, our salvation is very personal, our relationship with God is very personal, don’t use other people to determine your life. It matters how you hear God and how you respond to God.

If you were the only one on earth Jesus would still have come to die for you, that is what the Bible teaches.

He didn’t come because we were many. you are unique as an individual, nobody was ever like you, nobody will ever be like you, you are the only one of you that God has and he will ever have . Make a choice to be the best for God. Nobody can do things the way you do, nobody can say it the way you do.

Unbelief can cause the power of God to fail Mark 6: 1-6 all you need is your faith to act on Gods word. Accept what he says that is faith.

Advancing in life

Published

Advancing in life By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

1Tim.4.15 – Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

How I wish that you would understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the word of God in your life. The word of God has a ministry in your life.

He says meditate upon the word of God, give yourself wholly to them, in other words yield yourself to the word of God, let the word of God have power over your life.

What does that mean?

When you hear the word yield yourself to it
Here is a simple example imagine that someone says to you “stand up” without him carrying you up, you have a choice to stand up or not to stand up. If he says get up, you can decide to get up, you can decide you are not going to get up, if you don’t get up you are resisting the instruction, but when you choose to get up at that word, that means you are yielding yourself to that instruction, you are giving yourself to that instruction and because you have given yourself to that instruction you will enjoy the benefits that comes with that instruction.

Profiting in the verse above is from the greek word “prokope” it means your furtherance, advancement, progress may appear to all.

I kind of like the word that the greek used for it. its translated may appear to all but its more than just to appear, it’s the greek phaneros which means to spread abroad, it means that your advancement, your furtherance, your progress may spread abroad, become widely known, openly known. Your progress will be seen by all.

If you will meditate on the word, give yourself wholly and completely to the word, the time will come when that word will propel your advancement that it will be seen. The word has a ministry in your life to get this to happen.

Josh.1.8 – This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

God has put in your hands what you need to make your way prosperous. You can make your life prosperous, the responsibility is yours, you can do it because you are just like God, you belong in his class. 1John 4:17

You can have good success, When you study Joshua 1:8 in Greek it says you not only have good success, it says you become perceptive, it means sagacious, your intelligence will rise, your thinking level is different from others, accurately insightful.

That’s what the word of God does in your life, it makes you wise, penetratingly discerning. Another version says You become wise in the affairs of life, you function wisely. Some people don’t function wisely and that accounts for the failures that they experience in their life.

You can function wisely when the spirit of God through the word brings into your understanding that sagacity of the spirit that only a child of God can have.

Psalm 1:1-3 In verse 3 he says And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Can you imagine if your life turns that way where everything you do prospers.

See Psalm 119:98-99 Acts 20:32

The word of God has the ability to build you up, he will build you mentality physically, financially and in every way.

Meditate on the word like never before, bombard your mind with the word of God until you become saturated, completely inundated with the word of God and see what will happen in your life. Do it everyday and you will be full of testimonies because the word has the ability to produce in us what it talks about
