Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande, popularly known by his stage name 9ice, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter and one of the biggest artistes in the industry as far as music is concerned. 9ice is a multi award winning singer who has a collection of hit singles and also albums. He has been in the industry for a long time now and he has gained popularity among music lovers over the years. He is well recognized for his hit song titled “Gongo Aso” which is still played in parties and clubs till date. Join me as I take you through his early life, music career, personal life and some of his albums.

9ice’s EARLY LIFE AND CHILDHOOD
9ice, as he is well known, was born on the 17th of January, 1980 into a polygamous family of five wives and nine children. He had most of his childhood in Bariga, Lagos state, where he grew up though he hails from Ogbomosho in Oyo State. He attended Abule Okuta Primary School and later moved on to CMS Grammar School. He didn’t complete his University education as he dropped out from the Lagos State University after gaining admission to study Law. He always had passion for music right from his childhood and grew up listening to legends like Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Are and Late Haruna Ishola. He started singing at the age of 14.

9ice’s MUSIC CAREER
As mentioned earlier, 9ice started singing from a young age and he dropped out of university to solely focus on his music career. He first released a demo in 1996 for a song titled “Risi De Alagbaja”. At the time, he was with a band called Mysterious boys and went on to sing a couple of songs with them. He released his first solo single titled “Little Money” in 2000. He went on to release other songs before then releasing an album titled “Gongo Aso” which had a street anthem also with the same name in 2008. He would later go on to perform at Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Tribute Concert in London, UK also that same year. 9ice has been known to produce several hits together with his producer ID Cabasa. Till date, 9ice is still one of the relevant names in the music industry.

9ice’s PERSONAL LIFE
9ice was previously married to Toni Payne but the marriage was later dissolved. He is currently married to OlaSunkanmi Ajala and they are blessed with a beautiful daughter. Apart from Music, 9ice is also a politician. He once contested a seat at the House of Representatives in 2015 but he didn’t make it to the big stage as he lost in his party’s primaries. Later in 2015, he was appointed special adviser to the governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi.

Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu, who performs as “Duncan Mighty”, is a Nigerian music singer, songwriter and music producer. He is a quite versatile singer whose genre is Reggae, African R&B and Hip Hop. He also sings in English, Igbo and Pidgin. He is sometimes called “Port Harcourt’s First Son” by fans. He has released several singles and had a spectacular second time big break after making a come back with a feature alongside Wizkid in 2018. DUNCAN MIGHTY’S EARLY LIFE AND CHILDHOOD
Duncan Mighty was born in the 28th of October 1983 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He is the only son of his parents. He lost his father in 2007. He started singing in his church choir where he was also a drummer. His passion for music led him to study Audio Engineering in the University. During his NYSC days, he worked as a sound instructor at Benson and Hedges. He also worked at Dolphin Studios for his IT. In 2006, he joined D Large Records and 360 Records before he later met Chris Aire and together they formed AireMighty Records.

DUNCAN MIGHTY’S MUSIC CAREER
Duncan Mighty released his debut album in 2008 for “Koliwater” and with that he grew into a popular figure most especially in the part of the country he came from. His next work was for “Ahamefuna” which was entirely produced by the singer with no features. He released other albums and songs after that. Duncan Mighty came back in 2018 when together with Wizkid, he released “Fake Love”. Following that song, he was featured on several other artistes songs including Tiwa Savage and Davido.

Oladipo Olamide Emmanuel, also known by his stage name “Chinko Ekun”, is a popular Nigerian rapper, songwriter and performer. The 2018 massive hit single “Able God” was one of Chinko Ekun’s biggest song in his career. On the song, he featured Zlatan Ibile and Lil Kesh and the huge success of the song was capped off with an Headies award for Best Street Hop Song. CHINKO EKUN’S EARLY LIFE AND CHILDHOOD
Also called “Chinko Tiger”, he was born on the 13th of September 1993 in Ikeja, Lagos State though he hails from Ondo State. He is the second of three children. He had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos state before moving on to Obafemi Awolowo University for his University education where he studied Law. He only just completed his National Youth Corps Service recently. When he was younger, he used to be a part of the choir and also played drums at a time too. He comes from a musically inclined family where they all love music.

CHINKO EKUN’S MUSIC CAREER
Chinko Ekun started music through freestyle sessions posted on Social media. He started singing towards his admission into University and finally released his first single titled “Ekun” during his 100 level days. He coined his name from his first single and got “Chinko” after it became his nickname due to his fake Chinese rap. After a couple of uploaded freestyle sessions, he was noticed by Olamide, who eventually signed him to YBNL. He released two tracks almost immediately after signing. After his contract expired, he got signed by Dek-Niyor Entertainment, a Dubai based record label. He has released several songs under the label including his big hit “Able God”.

Chidinma Ekile, who stars as her first name “Chidinma”, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. She became popular first when she won the MTN Project Fame top prize in 2010. Since then, she has been known to be quite involved in the music scene, recording a couple of hit singles and collaboration too. Following her run to stardom with Project Fame, she released several songs which were hugely recognized by the fans. “Emi ni Baller” and “Kedike” are two of her big hits till date. CHIDINMA’S EARLY LIFE AND CHILDHOOD
Chidinma was born on the 2nd May 1991. She hails from Imo State. She is the sixth child of seven children. She had a disciplinarian father growing up. During an Interview, Chidinma talked about how she was born blind though it was only for a few months. Her early education was at Ketu, Lagos State, where she was also born and raised. When she was 210, she joined church’s choir. She worked as a business promoter prior to her Project Fame Audition. She is a graduate of Sociology at the University of Lagos despite wanting to study Mass Communication at first.

CHIDINMA’S MUSIC CAREER
Following her success at the Project Fame, she started working on her debut album titled “Chidinma”. She worked with several people such as Cobahms Asuquo, Tee Y mix, and Sound Sultan. Her song, Emi Ni Baller, was produced by Legendary Beatz with vocals also coming from Wizkid. The song made Chidinma the first female singer to peak at Number one on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart. All through her career so far, she has released a couple of other songs. She has a host of music influences including Michael Jackson, Darey Art Alade, Mariah Carey, Lagbaja and Onyeka Onwenu.
Chidinma has also starred in a Kunle Afolayan film titled “The Bridge”.

Chidinma has been rumored to have been in a relationship with Flavor. There was also a time she was linked with Kiss Daniel. Recently, she posted a picture and fans were quick to spot a ring on her finger and most people tagged it an engagement ring.
