The Holy Spirit Causes You To See

The Holy Spirit Causes You To See

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).

The Lord Jesus came into the world as the light of life. Thus, He gave life everywhere He went. The Bible says that John the Baptist also bore witness of His Light (John 1:7), so did many others who saw Him perform tremendous miracles. Today, the Lord Jesus is in heaven but we still have with us “another Comforter” who is exactly like Jesus. This is the Holy Spirit Who is the light of life today. One very important aspect of the ministry of the Holy Ghost is that He “causes us to see” and John 16:8 substantiates this: “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” The word “reprove” is the same as “convict” and it embraces a number of biblical expressions in its meaning. Originally, it derives from two Latin terms meaning “cause to see.” In the New Testament, the words “reproof,” “conviction’ and “illumination” are used to communicate the ministry of the Holy Spirit whereby He causes the individual to “see,” that is, understand truth. A man without the Holy Ghost is like a blind man. He may not know it but that’s what blindness is all about. A blind man cannot see light and beauty, and it’s the same thing in the realm of the spirit. A blind man in the realm of the spirit is one who doesn’t know spiritual things; he can’t see the things of the Spirit of God. When the Holy Spirit comes into your life, you’ll no longer be blind because He’ll cause you to see. Every Christian needs to depend on the Holy Spirit to help him understand the truth and respond to it accordingly. There can be no Christianity without the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!

Give Yourself A Quick Charge

“For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing…” (Isaiah 28:11-12).

Man is a spirit who has to communicate with spirit beings in the realm of the spirit. But because he lives in a material world, he can’t ordinarily do this. But the new creature can because he has a recreated spirit, which God gives a new language by the Holy Spirit. This language is a spiritual one that no human being can understand except by a special gift of the Holy Ghost. Whenever a believer speaks in tongues, he charges up his spirit like a battery. This kind of charging can be described as quick charging. Long charging requires fasting, careful planning, and prayer, but if you need a quick charge, all you have to do is speak in tongues. If you were going for an interview and discovered you were feeling nervous, just start speaking in tongues. It will not take a minute and suddenly you will be another man. The Bible says “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth (emboldens) himself” (1 Corinthians 14:4). Speaking in tongues is a sign. It is the rest  and the refreshing with which the weary is caused to rest and be refreshed, Hallelujah! It’s possible for a believer to think he has a lot of problems to pray about and if he doesn’t mention all of them, God wouldn’t know. God knows your heart and also knows about all the crises you face. When you yield your tongue to the Holy Ghost, you’ll speak mysteries about those things. You’ll release spiritual missiles from your spirit, because He says out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38). Keep on speaking in tongues!

Another Comforter

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever” (John 14:16).

The Lord Jesus, speaking of the Holy Spirit, said, “I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter.” The words “another comforter” are derived from the Greek words “allos parakletos,” “allos” for “another,” and “parakletos” for “comforter.” Now, the word “parakletos” refers to one who is sent to go alongside, one who goes with you as your helper, your advocate, your strengthener and your guide. The Bible lets us know who the Holy Spirit is to us. Just before Jesus’ ascension, He said, “I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter.” If Jesus said “another Comforter” and “another” is from the Greek word “allos” meaning “another one of the same kind,” then it means the Holy Spirit is another Comforter of the same kind with Jesus. It can be inferred here that Jesus was the first Comforter, praise God! Jesus is a Comforter; this is the reason He said He would ask the Father to send us the Holy Spirit Who would come as another Comforter of the same kind and quality as He was. When Jesus ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit came to take His place. The Holy Spirit is to us today what Jesus would have been to us if He were on earth. The Holy Spirit brings us the presence of Jesus and the presence of the Father. He is the One Who lets us know that God is our heavenly Father. The Bible says the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God, Hallelujah! Therefore, if you’re a child of God, then it’s the responsibility of the Holy Spirit to lead you in this life. He should guide you, strengthen you and teach you the things of the Kingdom of God. If you let Him, He will do it in your life. If you open your heart to the Holy Spirit, He’ll teach you and guide you in the things of God. Praise the Lord!

An Unlimited Personality

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me” (John 15:26).

In the scripture above, the Lord Jesus gives us a beautiful description of who the Holy Spirit is. He calls Him the Spirit of truth “which proceeds from the Father!”That’s the description of an unlimited personality. In other words, whenever the Father needs to move from point A to point B, His Spirit proceeds out of Him. The Father never leaves His throne; He doesn’t ever have to get up from there to get somewhere! That’s why He can be at different places at the same time, doing different things and yet be one and the same God. When the Holy Spirit is at point A, He’s there as though He’s nowhere else; meanwhile He’s at point B at the same time, doing something completely different from what He’s doing at point A. While He’s at point B, He’s fully there as though He’s not anywhere else. He’s such an unlimited personality; He is infinite! If while at point B, He ever wanted to do something else at point C, He wouldn’t have to move away from points A or B; He simply proceeds from Himself to point C while still at points A and B. While at point C, there may be some fellow who wants to receive the Holy Ghost at point D. Again, He wouldn’t have to stop what He’s doing at points A, B, and C to attend to that fellow. He simply proceeds there, while remaining at points A, B and C, doing what He was doing as though He wasn’t anywhere else in the world. This is the reason He can be in me, in you, and in every one of God’s children. He’s such an awesome personality. He can be everywhere at the same time. When He’s with you, it’s as though that’s the only place He is in the whole world. He relates with you as though you’re His only child. He’s never in a hurry when He’s with you! He never says “Hold on, I’ve got to attend quickly to something else over there.” No, He never leaves you! When He needs to be anywhere else, He proceeds over there and remains with you fully, carrying out His ministry in your life. While He’s working in you, He’s working in every believer all over the world at the same time because His reach is infinite, His power immeasurable and His personality unlimited. Hallelujah!
