Acts 27

Act 27:1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.

Act 27:2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

Act 27:3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

Act 27:4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

Act 27:5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.

Act 27:6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us theren.

Act 27:7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

Act 27:8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

Act 27:9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

Act 27:10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

Act 27:11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

Act 27:12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

Act 27:13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

Act 27:14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

Act 27:15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

Act 27:16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

Act 27:17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

Act 27:18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

Act 27:19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

Act 27:20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

Act 27:21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

Act 27:22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

Act 27:23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

Act 27:24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

Act 27:25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Act 27:26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

Act 27:27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

Act 27:28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

Act 27:29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

Act 27:30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

Act 27:31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

Act 27:32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

Act 27:33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

Act 27:34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

Act 27:35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

Act 27:36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

Act 27:37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

Act 27:38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

Act 27:39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

Act 27:40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

Act 27:41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

Act 27:42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

Act 27:43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

Act 27:44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

Serving God through the spirit as a Christian

Serving through the spirit By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome;

The kingdom of God doesnt operate like this world. There are reflections in this world that you can look at and turn to the kingdom of God and say this is similar, yes because God made the earth and when he did it was very good. So the world will be an expression of his thinking for sure.

The bible does tell us in the 1st chapter of the book of Romans that there are things in the natural world that help to explain certain spiritual things.
But Gods kingdom doesnt operate like this world because this world operates under what we call the spirit of the world, which is a satanic spirit.

For example men are revered in the world for the amount of information in their head, if the guy has several degrees, if he has gone to several schools, written so many books, they think he is an authority in the area in which he is dealing.

They say Dr so and so cannot be wrong, he is number one in the world, he is the best you can get, if he says it’s this way then it’s this way. Because they are thinking about the amount of knowledge in his head. So we place our future in the hands of a man who has natural understanding, natural knowledge based on scientific discovery and historical information. That’s the way the world runs but the kingdom of God doesnt run that way, it runs differently

God encourages studying, God encourages learning but there is something that the world cannot give, that must come from God and it operates in the kingdom of God and that ingredients is needed for every study, every learning, so you can get the accurate information that God wants to give you. It’s called wisdom

That’s why David said to his son Solomon wisdom is the principle thing therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting get understanding.

Remember what Jesus said when he gave the parable of the sower. A man who went forth to sow as he sowed some seeds fell by the way side and the birds of the air came and picked them up and they had no time to grow. Some fell on hard ground and because there wasnt any deepens of earth they sprang of very quickly but when adversity they withered away. Some other seeds fell among thorns and when they grew up the thorns choked them and they withered away.

Then some fell on good ground and brought forth fruit, some thirty fold, some sixty fold, some hundred fold.

In his interpretation he says the the seeds that fell by way side are those who hear the word of God and do not understand it and satan comes immediately, he doesnt wait but steals the word that was sown in their heart. The message was actually sown in their heart but because they didnt understand it, satan stole the word from them.

When you hear the word of God do you understand it. The bible says it is given to us to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of God. Do you let the spirit of God function in you to manifest his wisdom in your life so that you can function in his wisdom.

The bible says we have not received the spirit of the world but the spirit which is of God that we might know the things which are freely given to us of God 1st Corinthians 2:11-12

He gave us the spirit of God that we might know. If you have received the holy spirit you are supposed to know the things of the spirit of God, when you hear them you should know, you can judge that this is of the spirit of God.

The bible talks about spiritual blindness and deafness which means there are people that hear the word and cant hear it, it just comes to them and bounces off. No matter what you say they just cant get it.

That’s why we pray and intercede for them and when we pray like the that the spirit of God works in their heart. So that when they hear the word they can receive it.

You should pray for yourself like that until your consciousness grasps it. When you become conscious that your spirit has opened up to the word of God.

Do you watch yourself? The Bible says for us to watch ourselves. Do you watch your own life. Do you stand out of yourself and look at you and see where you are going

What you watch in your life is not how much money you have now or how much influence you have now. What you watch is how is the love of Gof functioning in you

What is your character like, how is the word of God working through you to manifest the kingdom of God in humility, in righteousness. How is the word of God working in you in your communication.
No matter how much faith you have, if you are rude your faith is a failure.

The bible says if I have faith that I can move mountains and have no love it profits me nothing. In telling us what love does not do,one of them says love is not rude.

So if you are rude your faith is useless even though you are moving mountains.

How character matters. That is your personality. It doesnt matter what your abilities can do for you, be praised for your character, if you have that I tell you, you have everything.

Are you not aware that there are many successful people in different fields of the world who are unhappy? Who are unfulfilled? Why do you strive to be like them, why do you make them your teachers?

God has given us his word and he gave us a revelation of the past, dateless past and he has given a revelation of the future, dateless future. And put in between so that we can know from everlasting to everlasting and know how to live and make no mistakes about life. To be sure what is right and have no fear of failure if we follow him. This is the only foundation there is none other.

All these things show me the reality of the scripture. Psalm 39:5 says verily everyman at his best state is all together vanity.

Mans knowledge cannot make you a success, he may make you succeed for a time but he will not make you a success in life. To be a success in life you need the one who knows about life which is the word of God. If you listen to him he will make you a success.

You dont have to be the boss to have a great life. You can have a life that challenges the status quo continually, it’s what we are created for, we are a wonder to the world. Be happy about what you do, whatever you do contributes to the building of human society so you should glad about it. Your prosperity does not come from the job you do and the greatest trees are not produced from the largest seeds.

Whatever you recieve from your job is a seed and the seed doesnt have to be so large to produce the greatest trees. It is the power of your seed. It is what that seed represents to you. That’s why Jesus could praise the widow who gave two mites and said even though her money was the smallest she gave the greatest because she gave everything.

When you receive your money, you look at it, it doesnt look so big. The question is not whether it can be used for a lot of things, it’s what it can mean if its given to God.

Jesus asked how much food do you have here, they said no food, just a little boys lunch, Jesus said go get it and they brought the boys lunch. Jesus took it and he blessed it and asked them to divide for everybody. The boy got back twelve baskets, because it got into the hands of Jesus.

The trouble is that sometimes we look too much at where we are, we say I dont receive as much as that person so that means I may never be like that person

Your greatness is not in the definition of your assignment. It is in the quality of your spirit. That’s the way it should be with you. Everywhere you go, theres something that you carry that people can tell theres a difference, theres something about your life.

Joseph was a slave brought into the house of potipher, the bible says the lord was with Joseph and he was a prosperous man. Because the master saw that everything he did was successful he made him an overseer and God made everything in the man’s house to be successful. Potipher began to prosper because of Joseph. That is the way it should be with you since you took over let it be said concerning you, when what you do remains.

That’s what Jesus called us to do he ordained us to produce lasting results, abiding works. Where whatever you do remains, others can build on it.

Sometimes we have people who instead of seeing the positive life of other people and learn from them they get into a worthless competition. Because you are trying to compete with him not happy to hear the stories of their success.

The success of another person doesnt mean you are failing. Joseph didnt have to blow his trumpet, potipher knew that he was successful because of Joseph.

You are very good at what you do but the way you speak to people around you it covers the good thing you have done. Nobody seems to see your good work because of your speech, dont say that is how you were born, change it.

If you want to be successful in certain things there must be a change. The bible says lay aside every weight and the sin that doth so easily beset you and run the race with patience looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

THE AGELESS ZONE
(You’ve Been Passed From Death Into Life)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Romans 1:16-17 “…I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.””

◀️ LET’S TALK
After her time of prayer, Chloe stretched out on her bed, recollecting all she’d heard in Church the night before, about the divine life of God that had come into her after being born again. Her Pastor had shared that, being the righteousness of God in Christ, there was no longer any reason for anyone to fear death, disease, and even ageing— that she had been born into the ageless zone—and that as the Lord Jesus was in Heaven today, so she was also in the world. As a result of these thought-provoking musings, she resolved to share this Gospel with at least one person in her class but eventually led her whole class to Christ and they all received salvation!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is truly the power of God to bring any sinner out of sin into the life of righteousness. God’s righteousness is revealed in the Gospel. There’s no other way for anyone to be ushered into, learn about, receive, or understand the righteousness of God outside the Gospel. That’s why the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Gospel of righteousness.

What is righteousness? It’s the nature of God, which you received at the New Birth, and it’s one of the cardinal gifts of God (Romans 5:17). Additionally, the Bible tells us that through the Gospel, life and immortality have been brought to light (2 Timothy 1:10). What kind of life is it referring to? It’s eternal life, the God-life. 1 John 5:11-12 says, “…and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life….”

This transcendent life, with the gift of righteousness, was imparted to you in Christ, through the Gospel. According to the Scriptures, you’ve passed from death to life, from mortality into immortality, from age into agelessness. This is deep! Eternal life is the life with agelessness. Age makes the body grow old, weak and die, but because of eternal life, your strength is renewed day by day! You’re growing, but not ageing. It’s part of the glorious impact and blessings of the life of Christ in you. Hallelujah!

ALWAYS WIN

(Lyrics and Music by Sinach)

Let the world tremble
I will not be afraid
Uncertainty before me
I will not be moved
I have blessed assurance
Your word is true
blessed assurance
My future secured

I Know that will always win
Whatever comes my way
I know that I will always win
I’m victories
In the name of the Lord
I’m victories
In the name of the Lord

Foundations be shaken
I will not be afraid
Tongues may rise against me
I will not be moved
Thousands fall beside me
My life you preserve
Greater is He that’s in me
Than he that’s in the world

I Know that will always win
Whatever comes my way
I know that I will always win
I’m victories
In the name of the Lord
I’m victories
In the name of the Lord

I was born for this
I was Made for this
This is my moment
Its my time shine
