Expand Your Knowledge

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen” (2 Peter 3:18).

The relationship that each of God’s children has with God differs. Sometimes, we meet Christians who relate with God in a way that might make us wonder whether we really know Him as much. The more knowledge you have of God the more of His grace you’re able to walk in. Let’s look at the content of Paul’s prayer for the Philippian church: “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment” (Philippians 1:9). The Amplified Bible translation uses the word ‘insight’ instead of ‘judgment’ and this means that the more knowledge of the Word you have the more insight you’ll have into the things of God. So, when you see a fellow brother or sister do things in ways you don’t understand, don’t be upset, he may have some information you’re not yet exposed to. For example, Brother Sam prays aloud with so much power and force; he doesn’t think God would hear him if he prayed quietly, whereas, Brother Ron prays quietly because he knows that God would still hear the simplest and quietest prayer. So which of these two brothers is correct? They both are! They’re both relating to God according to the revelation they have. But did you know that if Brother Sam suddenly decides to start praying like Brother Ron, he may not have results? You see,  until Brother Sam receives the kind of revelation Brother Ron has, he wouldn’t be able to pray in faith, and God only responds to faith! Your relationship with God is based on your revelation of His personality through the Word and by the Holy Ghost. So you see, you must expand your knowledge of the Word of God. This is why the apostle Peter says we should grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

FURTHER STUDY: ROMANS 14:23

“Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself!  (1 Peter 1:23 MSG).

The Christian is not merely someone who changed his way of doing things. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The Christian is a new specie that never existed before. It’s very important that you realize who the new creation truly is. Otherwise, you may never be able to live the way God wants you to. You were born of the Word of God when you received Jesus Christ into your life. You’re no longer of the corruptible seed of man, for you were born of the incorruptible seed. The life in you is very different from the one you received from your parents. Now, you have the God-kind of life. The Lord Jesus said, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). Therefore, you’re no longer of the flesh but of the Spirit. 1 John 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children…” This doesn’t just mean you belong to God, or that you’re on God’s side. It actually means that you hail from God; your origin can be traced to Him. Your origin has made you more than a man. You’re a partaker of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). The Spirit of God is in every fiber of your being, every bone of your body and every cell of your blood. You need to be conscious of this fact everyday. The Holy Spirit in us is not just an influence; He’s the Omnipresent and the manifested presence of God, and now He lives in you.

“You feed them with blessings from your own table and let them drink from your rivers of delight. For you are the Fountain of life; our light is from your light” (Psalm 36:8-9 TLB).

Wouldn’t you love to drink from God’s rivers of delight and partake of the fountain of life? Well, to do that you have to get into the Word of God! This Scripture prophesied about the new creature with particular emphasis on the influence of the Holy Spirit and the Word. The Word of God is truth, it is absolute reality! Whenever I study the Word, I receive something much more than inspiration. I receive light to direct me in the course of life. I study the Bible to receive something definite or get specific instruction about a situation. If you read the Bible without knowing what you’re looking for, you’ll be like the man travelling not knowing where he’s going. Tell me, how will he know that he’s gotten to his destination? This was the precarious situation in which the Jews found themselves. They knew the Messiah would come but they didn’t recognize Him when He did. He walked the streets of Galilee, preaching, teaching, healing and delivering; still they arrested Him and killed Him. Some Jews are still waiting for the Messiah to come. Sad, isn’t it? There’s something beyond the letters on the pages of the Bible; it’s the Spirit of God. When you study the Bible like a book that’s full of religious history, the information you’ll receive from it would be void of revelation knowledge. Until God, through His Spirit, stands up in the book, all you’ll have is theology. Without the Holy Spirit the Bible would be mere literature, but when a Christian full of the Holy Spirit reads and acts on it, it produces life!

I declare that I’m in Christ, born again and full of the Holy Spirit. He has my heart!

SEPTEMBER 14, 2020: HE HAS MY HEART!

I declare that I’m in Christ, born again and full of the Holy Spirit. He has my heart! I have the life and nature of God in my heart. There’s a change in my heart; a transformation inside. I experience transformation and glory in my soul and body as a result of the impact and influence of the life and nature of God in my spirit. The Kingdom of God is set up in my heart. The Holy Spirit finds expression in my heart, dispensing His love through me. Out of the good treasures of my heart, I bring forth good. I’m mightily blessed by the Holy Spirit. I’m a life-giver. Thank You dear Father, for setting up your Kingdom in my heart. With my heart, I envision and apprehend the realities of the Gospel and of our Kingdom-life. I pray for the unsaved around the world, that their hearts be open to receive the Gospel, and be saved; that your power for salvation will mantle their hearts even now, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Hallelujah!

It’s Important To Know And Use What You’ve Got In Christ

Rhapsody of Realities Confessions

SEPTEMBER 15, 2020: HE’S WITH ME AND IN ME!

I declare that the Holy Spirit is my comforter, helper, teacher, guide, standby, counsellor and advocate. He’s with me and in me; therefore, I can never be in the dark or miss my way in life. He lives in my heart and abides with me forever. I’m conscious of His presence in my life. Irrespective of what I may face in my life, divinity is at work in me! Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I’m manifesting Christ; Christ in me, the hope of glory! Heaven is in me; The fullness of the Godhead is fully tabernacled in me, and expressed through me! Thank You dear Father, for the great honour and blessing of having Christ live in me by the Holy Spirit; by virtue of His indwelling and abiding presence, I’m infused with divine energy and supernatural wisdom to do the will of God, and live triumphantly over the devices of the evil one and the corrupting influences in this world. Hallelujah!
