HIS PERFECT WILL ..
(Walking In God’s Chosen Path)
To enjoy God’s best, you must choose to move from what’s merely good and acceptable, into His perfect will for your life.
To the Bible: Romans 12:2
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”
The Bible talks about three phases of God’s will: the good will, the acceptable will, and the perfect will of God. The good will is His general will as revealed in the written Word. For example, God’s good will is for His children to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. However, there are times when He gives specific instructions regarding this, like when Paul wanted to go preach in Asia and the Holy Spirit didn’t permit him at the time, even though the preaching of the Gospel was a good thing to do (Acts 16:6-7).
The acceptable will of God is that which is pleasing to Him; that which He accepts. King David had a desire to build God a house, and God found it pleasing, but it was his son Solomon who God permitted to build it eventually.
Nowhere in the Bible is the new creation told to obey the Law. Rather, he’s called the obedient one. “As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance” (1 Peter 1:14). You obeyed the Law in Christ, so your blessings in Christ aren’t preconditioned on obedience; they’re your birthright!
Dear heavenly Father, I give you glory for the impact of your Word in my life. Through the Word, and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I’m being led into your perfect will for my life, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
